Free Phone Consultation
If you are interested in seeking treatment at CBTCOA, please call 626-493-2165 or email drdaniellecooper@cbtcoa.com to schedule a 15-minute phone consultation so we can discuss whether CBTCOA would be a good fit for your needs. If we decide CBTCOA would likely be a good fit, we can schedule an initial evaluation appointment towards the end of the call. If CBTCOA isn’t the best fit, CBTCOA would be happy to provide you with referrals to other providers who may be a better match.
Assessment
Treatment at the Center of Behavioral Therapy and Consultation for OCD and Anxiety begins during the initial diagnostic evaluation session. The goals of this initial intake can often be completed during this first 90-minute session. However, each person’s symptoms, situation, and goals are different. Therefore, sometimes follow-up sessions are needed for the evaluation phase of our work. During the evaluation, you will be asked questions to help develop an understanding of your unique presenting concerns, priorities, and goals and then collaboratively create an individualized treatment plan. Feedback will be provided to you and clinical impressions and recommended evidence-based treatment approaches will be shared. This diagnostic evaluation will help confirm whether expertise at CBTCOA best fits your needs. When appropriate, referrals may be recommended to seek care outside of CBTCOA. The assessment will also give you an opportunity to see if CBTCOA is a good fit for you. If you decide you’d like to pursue treatment working together at this time, this plan will be used to help guide our clinical work moving forward. CBTCOA strongly believes assessment is an ongoing process throughout treatment, continues to gather additional information to further inform and tailor our work together and engage in continued dialogue about progress to help best support you in your goals.
Psychotherapy
Most often, psychotherapy will occur weekly for approximately 50 minute sessions. However, some treatments may be better delivered when meeting twice a week and/or for longer session lengths. We will discuss the recommended timing and frequency of sessions as a part of our treatment plan. Sessions often include facing specific situations where your anxiety “lives”. Psychotherapy at CBTCOA is typically time-limited and goal oriented.
Intensive therapy
CBTCOA also offers intensive treatment options for individuals wanting to move at a condensed and quicker pace to experience improvements faster, for individuals who have upcoming time off from school or work, and/or those who have more complex or severe anxiety-related symptoms. Sessions typically consist of five sessions per week for approximately three weeks.
