Professional Consultation

Consultation for Mental Health Professionals

Dr. Danielle Cooper, founding clinical psychologist at the Center of Behavioral Therapy and Consultation for OCD and Anxiety, provides consultation services for psychologists, therapists, and other mental health providers in the assessment and treatment of OCD, PTSD, and anxiety-related disorders. These consultation services help support clinicians seeking to gain confidence and competence in the application of these evidence-based interventions. Consultation services may be valuable for clinicians seeking clarification on diagnosis, for navigating challenging and complex cases, and for other considerations in learning how to implement CBT for anxiety-related disorders.

Dr. Danielle Cooper is currently also the Director of Consultation and Education in the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA)’s PTSD Special Interest Group (SIG). Dr. Cooper was previously an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania’s Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety and is a certified clinician, supervisor, and consultant in Exposure and Response Prevention (EXRP) for OCD and Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE) for PTSD. She provides specialized treatment to patients with anxiety-related disorders, consultation to mental health professionals, supervised doctoral students and medical residents, and has given lectures and workshops to mental health professionals internationally.  She is experienced in providing evidence-based treatments to the community and supporting other mental health professionals in the delivery of these interventions for anxiety-related disorders.

Consultation sessions are provided virtually and may be scheduled as often as would be beneficial for the mental health provider. Weekly consultations are most frequently preferred for mental health providers looking to gain support as they gain familiarity implementing a manualized treatment with a patient. As needed consultation or a single consultation session is also offered for providers looking for support on a more limited-time basis, such as to discuss a complex case, diagnosis, case conceptualization and treatment approach.
